Message The car had been running rich for a few weeks prior, backfiring and all, and was apparently shooting fireballs out the back while en route to ZCon. We think the force of those grenaded the turbo. We had tried a couple things to get it to stop running so rich but none worked - may have figured it out right at the end, but too late (thanks for the tip, Damon).

Bernie also found some debris inside one of the oil lines to that turbo, causing serious restriction, so it appears it was probably starved of oil for who knows how long. We can't tell what the debris is or guess how it got in.

I was previously a aviation mechanic and avionic technician and this car is harder to work on than Aircraft.
